Intro
Hwoarang is an original character in the Tekken series, making his debut in Tekken 3. He is a Taekwondo master and also the prized student of Baek Doo San. In the game, Jin Kazama is his primary fated rival.
The story of their meeting is dramatic: Hwoarang was once the leader of a street scamming group, and Jin Kazama was the first opponent he failed to swindle successfully. This not only surprised Hwoarang but also ignited his relentless pursuit of Jin Kazama.
Features
Kicking is Hwoarang's primary method of attack. His kick techniques feature multiple stance transitions and a vast move set. In the Tekken series, he is one of the more challenging characters to master, thus making him less suitable for beginners, unless they possess an extreme passion for Tae Kwon Do.
To truly highlight his unique qualities, Hwoarang's playstyle demands a consistently aggressive approach. The game consequently gives him weaker defensive capabilities, compensating with block skills that favor offense. While Hwoarang's moves are flashy and agile, his speed isn't top-tier, but his powerful kicking techniques perfectly compensate for this deficiency.
