Shingo Yabuki made his debut in KOF 97 as the self-proclaimed No. 1 disciple of Kyo Kusanagi. Players will instantly recognize that Shingo's moveset is heavily modeled after the Kusanagi style of ancient martial arts. However, the most distinct difference remains that Shingo lacks the signature crimson flames of his master, instead, he relies entirely on raw physical power and sheer determination.
A fan-favorite aspect of Shingo is the charming and humorous interactions he shares with Kyo. Whenever the two face off, their pre-match banter provides a lighthearted and entertaining atmosphere amidst the fierce competition. Shingo's "never-give-up" attitude, despite his inability to wield flames, makes him one of the most relatable and beloved characters in the franchise.
